A Physically Plausible Model for Rendering Highly Scattering Fluorescent Participating Media
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present a novel extension of the path tracing algorithm that is capable of treating highly scattering participating media in the presence of fluorescent structures. The extension is based on the formulation of the full radiative transfer equation when solved on a per-wavelength-basis, resulting in accurate model and unbiased algorithm for rendering highly scattering fluorescent participating media. The model accounts for the intrinsic properties of fluorescent dyes including their absorption and emission spectra, molar absorptivity and quantum yield and also their concentration. Our algorithm is applied to render highly scattering isotropic fluorescent solutions under different illumination conditions. The spectral performance of the model is validated against emission spectra of different fluorescent dyes that are of significance in spectroscopy. 1 ar X iv :1 70 6. 03 02 4v 1 [ cs .G R ] 9 J un 2 01 7

Analytic Rendering of Multiple Scattering in Participating Media
We consider the addition of physically-based weather effects like haze, fog and mist to images. Most computer graphics images are rendered under clear day or night conditions and little attention has been devoted to efficiently adding realistic weather effects. Multiple light scattering is dominant in a variety of atmospheric conditions (in general, most participating media) and is hard to mode...
متن کاملPrincipal-Ordinates Propagation for real-time rendering of participating media
Efficient light transport simulation in participating media is challenging in general, but especially if the medium is heterogeneous and exhibits significant multiple anisotropic scattering. We present Principal-Ordinates Propagation, a novel finite-element method that achieves real-time rendering speeds on modern GPUs without imposing any significant restrictions on the rendered participated m...
متن کاملMultiple-Forward-Scattering in Volume Rendering of Participating Media
Natural volumetric media have phase functions which typically are sharply peaked in the forward scattering direction, with backscatter accounting for only a few percent of the total angular redistribution from a single scattering event. This property has been exploited in the past in the small-angle approximation for radiative transfer, successfully for many engineering and science applications...
متن کاملVisually pleasing real-time global illumination rendering for fully-dynamic scenes
Global illumination (GI) rendering plays a crucial role in the photo-realistic rendering of virtual scenes. With the rapid development of graphics hardware, GI has become increasingly attractive even for real-time applications nowadays. However, the computation of physically-correct global illumination is time-consuming and cannot achieve real-time, or even interactive performance. Although the...

Efficient light transport simulation in participating media is challenging in general, but especially if the medium is heterogeneous and exhibits significant multiple anisotropic scattering. We present a novel finite-element method that achieves interactive rendering speeds on modern GPUs without imposing any significant restrictions on the rendered participated medium. We achieve this by dynam...
